We are only a gorgeous 30-minute drive to the Grand Mesa Visitor Center, an hour away from Powderhorn Ski Resort, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado National Monument and about an hour and 20 minutes to the Ouray, Colorado (the “Mini Switzerland of America”). There are also many lakes, trails, rivers and parks along the way!
Endless Local Attractions
Local wineries, meaderies and breweries abound on the Western Slope! Get to know our local vintners as well as the many fruit and vegetable farmers in the surrounding area. These farmers have made our produce stands reason enough to visit our rural communities. Find farm-to-table restaurants and sample the local wines in our nearby towns. From outdoor enthusiasts to shoppers seeking handmade gifts from local artisans and antiques stores, you’ll find many gems here!
The Bungalow
Our most popular property is a Private Bungalow with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a beautiful country kitchen with all the dishes, utensils and cookware. A full-size washer and dryer are tucked away in the kitchen for easy laundering after a day of hiking or fishing. All the bedding is supplied for the two comfortable queen-size beds. The living room has a pull-out couch, TV, chair and an electric fireplace. The back patio is large enough to sit outside and grill, or just stretch out and gaze at the stars.
It also has a fenced back yard for dogs. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination, toilet and sink with a vanity. The front porch welcomes anyone to sit in the “rocking bench” and watch the hummingbirds with the backdrop of the Grand Mesa. Just beyond the front porch is the fire pit for roasting s’mores, singing campfire songs or watching the stars on a clear Colorado night. Kids also love to enjoy the playset in the large adjoining yard.
The Bunkroom
The Private Studio Bunkroom is a great place for a group of up to eight people sleeping two per queen size bed. The bunk beds are comfortable and a great use of space in this studio-style property. There is a work desk and chair, high top table for four and a kitchenette complete with all the cookware, refrigerator, hot plate, microwave, toaster and a toaster oven. The large bathroom has a deep sink and vanity along with a toilet and shower.
The bunkroom is located right beside the horse corrals for an added ranch experience. You might even be able to watch as the cattle are herded past the front patio during the fall and winter months. Enjoy an outdoor grill, picnic table and bench for those who like to watch the horses and gaze at the Grand Mesa right outside the front door!
Creek Side Cabin
This beautiful "Glamping Cabin" sits on the 70 Acre Tongue Creek Ranch (TCR). TCR is a private 70 acre Hay Farm and Horse/Cattle Ranch in a fertile valley at the foot of the Grand Mesa and the Adobe Buttes. This Glamping Cabin is a 10 x 14 space with a 14 x 3 covered deck. THIS IS CAMPING with a GLAM touch. This is not a 5 star hotel, just a fun and creative way to camp. We do not provide linens, so bring your sleeping bag. The bathroom facilities are an outhouse nearby on the ranch property.
This cabin is nicely decorated with a fishing theme to inspire guests to checkout the lakes (over 300 of them) on the Grand Mesa. The cozy cabin is great for a couple or single person who likes to explore the great outdoors. It has a comfortable queen-sized bed and a wood burning stove for the colder winter nights. A solar generator will provide enough electricity to charge your electronics, power up a flashlight, run a fan or power up the TV and Blue Ray disk player. Bring your favorite movie or watch the riders in the horse arena just outside the front porch. There is also a gazebo close by for picnics or drinks while absorbing the beautiful surroundings.
The Loft
The Loft has the best views on the property and is a beautiful space decorated in Western décor. The Loft includes a one bedroom (queen), with a kids nook (single) and a Murphy Bed (queen) in the living room, so it can seep 5. The loft has a full kitchen equipped with all the cooking utensils, sink, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen connects to a living room and dining room with a comfortable high-top dining table for four and a countertop eating space with two chairs. The loft has a propane fireplace and vaulted ceilings.
There is a deck off the dining space with incredible views of the Grand Mesa where you can enjoy the gorgeous sunsets over the Adobe Buttes. This deck is also situated above the horse corrals which creates a very tranquil setting. The bedroom also has a smaller deck facing East so you can enjoy the morning sunshine. This is a favorite get-away spot for guests!
